Joe Badrov, The Football School Founder and Educator

Joe was born and raised in the Western Suburbs of Sydney where he developed a passion for the game of football from an early age. His first competitive game of football was at age 4 at St Marys Soccer Club. His early years were spent playing in the Nepean and Granville Districts. At the age of 12 he played Premier Youth League for Sydney Olympic, before moving over to Sydney United at age 14. He went on to play for many years at Sydney United in the Premier and National Youth Leagues. Joe also played with Bankstown City Lions in the NSW Premier League and State League clubs Hajduk Wanderers and Hurstville ZSC. In 2003, he unfortunately had a knee reconstruction, which brought an abrupt end to his playing career. The injury, however, paved the way for his successful coaching career. He has coached various Premier Youth League and Junior teams at Sydney United for the past 10 years and has had experience of being the Head Coach of the Sydney United Football Academy and Brazilian Soccer Schools.

He holds a Bachelor of Health Science Degree and Diploma of Education Degree from the University of Western Sydney. He also holds a Football Federation Australia Youth Licence and Brazilian Institute of Futebol Level 3 Licence. He holds a current RLSSA Senior First Aid Certificate.

In addition to coaching football, Joe has spent over 10 years as a Secondary School PDHPE Teacher. He is currently teaching at St Clair High School. He is the coach of all the school’s football and futsal teams and over the years has achieved some fantastic results with the students at the school.

Joe has always wanted to establish a football school in Western Sydney. There have been a lot of successful players come from the area such as Zeljko Kalac, Harry Kewell, Mile Jedinak and Mark Bridge to name a few. “It is a region, which has traditionally produced quality players. Hopefully, through our systematic and educational programs we can continue to nurture our local young players and hopefully turn them into future Socceroos or Matildas!”
